What is the focus of KAMASWITHRU training?
Training focuses on sport martial arts, movement quality, creativity, rhythm, and performance artistry. Sessions are personalized to support fundamentals, competition preparation, choreography, and individual expression.

Who is this training for?
Training is suitable for ages 12 and up, from beginners to seasoned competitors. Sessions are adapted to each student’s experience level, goals, and pace of learning.

Do I need prior martial arts experience?
No. Prior experience can be helpful but is not required. Beginners are guided through strong fundamentals with a clear progression.

Is training open to everyone?
Training is application-based and availability is limited. Yearly 1-on-1 packages are capped to ensure quality, focus, and full commitment to each student.

Is training only via Zoom? Can I train in person?
Zoom training is the primary format and is exclusively 1-on-1.
In-person training is available in Sacramento, CA. For locations outside Sacramento, travel, lodging, per diem, and lesson fees must be covered.

Is group training available via Zoom?
No. Zoom training is intentionally limited to one individual artist to maintain depth and quality.

Are seminars or workshops available?
Yes. Seminars and workshops are available for 10–50 students and may be hosted by dojos or organizations.

How long is access to the training portal?
Each student receives access for a minimum of 3–6 months, depending on their training package.

What should I prepare before starting lessons?
Your Kamas (or weapon of choice)

A notebook for feedback (recommended)

What can I expect in my first lesson?
The first lesson includes:

This sets the direction for your personalized training plan.

What type of feedback will I receive?
You’ll receive personalized feedback after every lesson, highlighting strengths, areas for improvement, and specific guidance for practice.

Will I receive additional resources?
Yes. Supplemental materials such as practice drills or video clips may be provided to reinforce training.

How often should I schedule lessons?
While there is no strict limit, no more than two sessions per week is recommended to allow time for proper practice and assimilation.

What level of commitment is expected?
KAMASWITHRU is best suited for students who are consistent, open to feedback, and willing to train between sessions. Progress depends on commitment, not just attendance.

How should I practice between lessons?
Consistent practice is essential. You’ll receive guidance on what to focus on so your training time is intentional and effective.

Can you help with competition preparation?
Yes. Training may include routine development, execution refinement, confidence building, and strategic competition insight.

Can I collaborate with Ru on choreography or performances?
Yes. Collaboration on choreography and performance concepts is welcome and can be discussed during sessions.

Can you help with music for performances or competitions?
Yes. Music production and creative services may be available depending on your needs. Fees vary by service and are separate from training.

Can I record my lesson for personal use?
Yes. Recording lessons for personal study and review is encouraged.

Can I post or broadcast lessons on social media?
No. All Zoom lessons are confidential and may not be streamed or posted publicly.

Can I share or distribute lesson recordings or taught material?
No. All training sessions, video recordings, and taught material are confidential and intended solely for the enrolled student.
For students 18 years or older, access is limited to the student only.
For students under 18, access is limited to the student and their parent(s) or legal guardian(s).
Lesson recordings and training content may not be shared, distributed, reposted, taught, or repurposed in any form.
This policy exists to protect the integrity of the teaching, knowledge, and foundation of KINETIC ARTS, MOVEMENT, AND STYLE, and to ensure the work remains intentional, respectful, and uncompromised.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule a lesson?
A 24-hour notice is required for all cancellations (virtual and in-person).
Cancellations within 24 hours will result in a $50 fee.

What if I’m injured during training?
You are responsible for your training environment and actions. If injured, lessons will be postponed, but lesson fees remain payable.

Are results guaranteed?
No. Results vary based on consistency, effort, and practice outside of sessions. KAMASWITHRU provides structure and guidance, but progress depends on personal commitment.

Are training packages refundable?
No. All training packages are non-refundable. Lessons may be rescheduled according to the cancellation policy.

Is there a limit to how many students you train yearly?
Yes. Yearly 1-on-1 training is limited to 15 students to preserve focus, energy, and training integrity. Once filled, enrollment closes.

How long is a yearly training package valid?
Yearly training packages are valid for 12 months, with a 3-month grace period to account for pauses, cancellations, or unforeseen circumstances.
This means your package expires after 15 months from the start date. Any unused sessions after this period will be forfeited.
After the 15-month period, membership must be renewed to continue training.

Can parents be involved or observe?
Yes. Parents are welcome to observe sessions and stay engaged with their child’s development.

What if I feel overwhelmed with the material?
Communication is encouraged. Training pace can be adjusted, and concepts revisited to ensure understanding and confidence.

Is there grading or formal assessment?
No formal grading system is used. Progress is evaluated continuously through feedback and discussion.

Can I take a break from training?
Yes. Training may be paused with notice, and resuming can be discussed when ready.

What is your teaching philosophy?
My philosophy is to create a focused, supportive environment that builds discipline, confidence, creativity, and identity—helping each student discover what makes their movement uniquely theirs.
